Irma Binoux's work
Irma Binoux is one of the biggest collaborators of archivooo. Hundreds of her photographs are in the archive spanning topics like landscape, still life, street photography and plants.
She uses saturated colours and contrast to highlight what matters in an image, irrespective of its central theme, which rarely features people. Partly because of that, there is a particular stillness in her work: whether she is photographing a branch in front of a cloudy sky or a seaside landscape, the world feels like it ends at the black edges of the frame.
Her work covers all the seasons and scrolling through her photographs, the months go by in quick succession one after another. The work is rarely explicit about when it happens, but rather prefers to throw a season at your face by showing a brown leaf on a sidewalk, a frozen branch, a kaleidoscopic colour arrangement or a turquoise blue swimming pool.
